Glossary

Terms are written exactly as the application shows them.

Term	Meaning
Bin	A specific storage place inside a location (shelf, slot). Used only at locations with bin tracking switched on.
Closed	Status of a shipment or receipt whose stock movement has been posted.
Direct transfer	A transfer where goods go straight from the source to the destination location, with no transit location.
Draft	Status of a document that is still being prepared and can be changed freely.
Posted	Status of a document that has been posted to the general ledger through a posting journal.
Reversed	Status of a document whose effect has been undone. The document stays as a historical record.
Shipping advice	Completely – the whole quantity ships at once; Partially – the quantity can ship in several shipments.
Transfer order	A plan to move goods from one own location to another. Shipments and receipts are made from it.
Transfer order receipt	The document that brings goods into the destination location.
Transfer order shipment	The document that takes goods out of the source location.
Transit location	A location of type Transit where goods "travel" between shipping and receiving in a two-step transfer.
