Purchase return order

The return order is a return agreed with the vendor first, for example after a complaint: what and how much goes back. The purchase return receipt (the goods leave) and the purchase credit memo are made from it. The menu is PurchaseReturn orders.

For a return without agreeing it first, it's quicker straight from the invoice: Corrections, returns and transfers.

Fully processed purchase return order

How it's made

With Add new record, like an order: vendor, External document, Products with the quantities to return.

A return document entered by hand, not made from an invoice or receipt, shows "Document of type return manually made, not generated from a document!" above the form – it isn't linked to the purchase the goods came from.

Form

The Payments tab shows the money the vendor pays back for the return order. Like the order, it can be returned and credited in parts (Shipping advice Partially): Partial receipts and invoicing. The other tabs: Document list and form.
