Purchase return receipt

The purchase return receipt records the goods going back to the vendor. It reduces stock; the payable is reduced by the credit memo. The menu is PurchasePurchase return receipts.

How it's made

• From a purchase invoice, with Actions > Purchase credit memo + Purchase return receipt.
• From a return order or a purchase credit memo, with Make a return receipt.
• Directly, with Add new record.

Statuses

Status	Meaning
Draft, Approved	A direct return receipt before shipping.
Waiting for shipping	The goods are still in the warehouse.
Shipped	The goods are returned, the credit memo isn't made yet.
Waiting for shipping(Processed credit memo)	The credit memo is processed, the goods haven't left yet.
Closed	Returned and credited.
Canceled, Reversed	Not valid.

Action	What it does
Ship	The goods leave the warehouse.
Wait for shipping	The return receipt waits; the goods leave later.
Make a credit memo	A purchase credit memo, processed.
Ship + Make a credit memo	Return and credit memo in one step.
Wait for shipment + Make a credit memo	The credit memo is processed, the goods wait.

Actions and Finance

• Actions: Transfer to location, Transfer from location, Clone and Reverse purchase return receipt.
• Finance: Product ledger.

• Ship: stock goes down by the returned quantity, at the return receipt's price without VAT.
